Water Source Identification
A&D uses the most advanced equipment available for water source detection in addition to the traditional penetrating and non-penetrating moisture meters. Thermal Imaging cameras and ultrasound technology helps us to quickly locate the hidden water sources and extent of the water migration.
Thermal Imaging:
A normal digital or traditional film camera will detect visible spectra of light (Red, Orange Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet which are at the wavelengths of approximately 380 to 750 nanometers long).
A thermal imaging camera will detect the infra-red spectra of light (greater than 750 nanometers wavelength, but less than 3,000 nanometers). Heat is emitted from Infra-red light. Changes in temperature can be detected by scanning for infra-red light, as the amount of infra-red changes in intensity with the amount of heat emitted from a surface.
A colder object will emit less infra-red light than a hotter object. The camera is able to detect these differences and assign the proper temperatures to the gradients. This can be used to detect wet walls, sources of leaking pipes, fire damage that is still hot, under/over insulated areas in houses and leaking surfaces.
Basically, the Infrared camera is the high tech version of taking hundreds of moisture and temperature readings in every square inch of a wall. It is a powerful, noninvasive diagnostic tool for moisture and mold problems.
