Water Source Identification
If you think you have a water leak or moisture accumulation in your home or business, give us a call – 317-255-5658. Our Water Damage Professionals will identify the source and spread of the damage. By quickly and thoroughly identifying the water source, we will minimize the potential health risks and property damage.
Do not wait! Call us at 317-255-5658 to identify any moisture before additional damage occurs!
Sometimes the water leak is obvious, but often it is hidden behind walls or in the ceiling and only becomes obvious when staining is observed. By then the mold growth could already be forming in areas before water damage is seen. That is why A&D Hydra Clean uses the most advanced equipment available for water source detection in addition to the traditional penetrating and non-penetrating moisture meters. Our state-of-the-art thermal imaging cameras and ultrasound technology help us to quickly locate the hidden water sources and the extent of the water migration. So you can be confident that all leaks and damage have been thoroughly identified.
A normal digital or traditional film camera will detect visible spectra of light (Red, Orange Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet which are at the wavelengths of approximately 380 to 750 nanometers long).
A thermal imaging camera will detect the infra-red spectra of light (greater than 750 nanometers wavelength, but less than 3,000 nanometers). Heat is emitted from infra-red light. Changes in temperature can be detected by scanning for infra-red light, as the amount of infra-red changes in intensity with the amount of heat emitted from a surface.
A colder object will emit less infra-red light than a hotter object. The camera is able to detect these differences and assign the proper temperatures to the gradients. This can be used to detect wet walls, sources of leaking pipes, fire damage that is still hot, under/over insulated areas in houses and leaking surfaces.
This means that the infra-red camera is able to take hundreds of moisture and temperature readings in every square inch of a wall. It is a powerful, noninvasive diagnostic tool for moisture and mold problems.
MAJOR SOURCES OF WATER DAMAGE:
Sump pump failure
Ice maker line
Refrigerator supply line
Dishwasher or appliance
Gutter or downspout stoppage
Pump out standing water in basement or crawl space
Water filtration unit
Fish tank rupture
Basement flooded due to power outage (no battery backup for sump pump)
Supply line break or failure (toilet, faucet, tub, washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc.)
